Move & Mend Physiotherapy is a boutique Physiotherapy clinic located in Tewantin providing private practice & community Physiotherapy home visit services to the Tewantin, Noosa and Hinterland regions.

Our philosophy is to encourage Movement to Mend to facilitate health & wellness. From assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a range of health conditions and movement disorders this active rehabilitation approach encourages individuals to engage in their own health care, reduce pain and prevent reoccurrence.

We believe that knowledge is power and that educating clients about their presentation and treatment options empowers self-efficacy and optimises health outcomes and quality of life.  We consider treatment as partnership between patient and therapist.

Our ethos is to aim to provide accessible, quality health care at an affordable price.

Clinic Treatment

The hand-on treatment approach involves the use of gentle therapeutic techniques including; soft tissue massage, joint mobilisations, neuro dynamics, muscle stretching, and dermoneuromodulation.

 

Other Physiotherapy techniques include; muscle energy techniques, integrated dry needling, taping, advice & education and exercise rehabilitation. Research has proven that Physiotherapy exercise is one of the most effective ways that you can solve or prevent pain and injury.

 

That is to say it is important to ‘Move & Mend’.

Move & Mend Physiotherapy also provides a mobile community Physiotherapy service. We can come to you to provide treatment in the comfort of your home, retirement village or nursing home.

Parkinson's Exercise Class

‘Parkinson’s, Parkinson’s, we will not stop…Move IT, Use IT, Improve IT’

- this is our war cry as we all move to be neuroactive.

Exercise plays a vital role for people living with Parkinson’s Disease. Parkinson’s specific exercise programs are designed to retrain the brain to improve function, manage symptoms & slow the progression Parkinson’s Disease.

The MoveIT PD exercise class is a Physiotherapy led exercise class that is based on the current research guidelines & includes the key focus areas of aerobic activity, strength training, balance, agility and multitasking and stretching.

               EMILY JONES 

                                 Physiotherapist
Emily Jones graduated from University of Queensland 2007 and over the years working in a variety of clinical settings both nationally and internationally she has obtained a wealth of knowledge.
Emily considers herself a well-rounded generalist musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with an active rehabilitation & hands-on therapy approach. Emily treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions & employs techniques such as exercise, integrated dry needling, dermo neuromodulation, Pilates and hydrotherapy along with a variety of other manual therapy techniques. Whether it's a sore neck, knee, headache or dizziness...Emily will be able to help facilitate recovery.

Emily has a special interest in Parkinson's Disease & partnering with clients to best manage their symptoms to improve function & independence & improve quality of life. MoveIT PD group exercise classes are conducted weekly.

Emily is passionate about facilitating holistic recovery & promoting wellness.

When Emily is not working you will find her either cycling, swimming or enjoying the outdoor lifestyle with her puppy on the Sunshine Coast.

We are registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia  and are members of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Referrals & Rebates

Did you know that you do not necessarily need a GP referral to attend physiotherapy as a private client?

We provide services for private clients (HICAPS/direct rebate available on site), WorkCover, Medicare/Chronic Disease Management Plans (CDM), Home Care Packages, NDIS, Insurance (CTP) & Department of Veteran Affairs.
